Epidermiological Studies of Vibrio Parahaemolyticus on the West Coastal sea in Korea

Abstract
|
|
|
A bacteriological survey was carried out for the detection of pathogenic Vibrios during the summer of 1985 in the west coastal sea.
The total number of 211 specimens were obtained from seawater, sea mud, oysters, Anadara,. and clabs samples from 6 areas. The results obtained were as follows:
1. Twenty-seven strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were isolated from 211 specimens of various sources ; 15 strains out of 61 seawater, 6 strains out of 17 sea mud, 3 strains out of 62 Anadara, and 3 strains out of 54 oysters.
2. The distribution of serotype was identified as K-28(7 strains), K-3(5 strains), K-30(4 strains), K-19, K-22 (each of 2 strains) and K-13, K-34, K-42, K-45, K-46, K-52, K-68 (each of 1 strain), respectively.
3. Vibrio parahaemolyticus was more highly isolated from seawater and sea muds in sabgyo bay.
